The River Club is situated on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River, 18 kilometres upstream from Victoria Falls. The camp has a distinct Edwardian flavour, and guests here enjoy the sights and sounds of Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River in a peaceful and tranquil setting away from the crowds.
Ten luxury, thatched chalets overlook the Zambezi River, and have en-suite facilities including a bath, shower, toilet and basin. All the rooms have fans. The rooms are all completely open in the front giving guests the best possible views of the Zambezi. The main building also has an interesting library.
The Victoria Falls are one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and is arguably the greatest waterfall in the world. Daily trips to the Falls are a highlight. Boating to the Zambezi River's islands provides relaxed afternoon activities, and fishing and sundowner trips are offered.
The Zambezi National Park is located just across the river, and elephants can be seen on the river bank. A rich bird life is found in the area. Hippos are regularly sighted (and heard) along the river's edge. Although TRC is not a game lodge, elephants can often be seen in the Zambezi National Park opposite and hippos are regularly seen and heard. There is rich bird life in the area, including several rarer species such as the African Finfoot, the Half Collared Kingfisher, the African Skimmer and the Collared Palm Thrush. For bird lovers there are nature trails around the lodge, boat cruises and island walks. Tiger fishing is an unforgettable challenge for keen fishermen, particularly during the warmer months. There are various varieties of Bream that are also a good catch. For the more sporting, try catching them on fly! We do offer game drives into the nearby Mosi Oa Tunya Game Park where there is an abundance of game but sadly no big cats. There is a good chance of spotting white rhino on these trips. Other game that can be seen are: elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeast and impala.
