The four cove beaches of Clifton, inter-linked by giant granite boulders and lapped by calm turquoise waters, are the famous playgrounds of the beautiful people. Fourth Beach is the most accessible, has facilities such as ablutions, kiosks with refreshments and deckchairs, and is the home of the lifesaving club, and so is the busiest of the beaches. The calmness of the water makes it a favourite with families.
Romantically billowing yachts come to play in the bay and it has the atmosphere of a chic Mediterranean vacation resort. Clifton's trendy Third Beach is home to the beautifully bodied who come to play volleyball, frisbee, see-and-be-seen or just to work on their tans for their next modelling shoot in Cape Town. First and Second beach are the least easily accessible of the Clifton beaches, with a steeper descent down from the road, no facilities, and slightly bigger waves, and so are generally quieter but no less beautiful. All the beaches are wonderfully sheltered from the prevailing summer South-East wind, and they are a favourite spot with Cape Town's inhabitants for evening sundowners and candlelit picnics which go on well into the night.
Our Clifton beach holiday cottages are situated on Third or Fourth beach, and beach holiday apartments on First or Second beach. View cottages and apartments in Clifton. Contact us for rates which start out at about $250 per day and up.. there are about 8 Villas
