Tsitsikamma (Full Day) Visit the magnificent Tsitsikamma forest. Firstly, we will visit the charming coastal village of Plettenberg Bay and then travel to Nature's Valley, a haven of tranquility and beauty. The road then takes us up mountain passes and along river gorges on to the massive Outeniqua Yellowwood tree (which is nearly a thousand years old), Storms River Bridge and the Tsitsikamma Coastal Nature Reserve. On our way to Tsitsikamma we also visit the Bungi Jump Bridge, which is the highest in the world 216m. Lunch will be taken at the Storms River Mouth. We will also visit Monkeyland on the way home, which offers visitors safaris conducted by experienced game rangers where you can expect to see many species of monkeys as well as a large variety of forest dwelling birds.
Oudtshoorn Trip (Full Day) After a spectacular drive over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass, we enter the red semi-desert of the Little Karoo. We start with a short tour of the town and then go on to the Cango Caves for a guided tour. From there we continue to the Safari Ostrich Farm to see one of the world's most spectacular birds. Enjoy a tour of the farm, a traditional ostrich lunch, and perhaps even an ostrich race.
Featherbed Trip (Half Day) Take a ferry ride across Knysna's magnificent estuary to a secluded nature reserve, home to a variety of wildlife, Knysna Loeries, the blue crane, and one of Africa's smallest antelope, the blue duiker. On arrival, a 4 x 4 trailer takes you to the summit of the Western Headland for a spectacular panoramas of the Knysna Basin and the sea. After admiring the view, take a gentle walk through a Milkwood Forest, into caves and along the coastline back to the restaurant. Enjoy a fine meal in the Food Forest, an outside eating area set amongst the Milkwood trees. Their specialty is fish cooked over an open fire.
Choo Tjoe Train (Half day) The Choo Tjoe Steam Train runs daily between Knysna and George, Travelling from George to Knysna or Knysna to George is like being present at an animated art exhibition. Each kilometer presenting a new canvas that calls forth exclamations of pleasure. One loses, to a certain degree, the sense of time thanks to a profusion of scenic delights. Whale Watching Packages
Dolphin & Whale Watching. This is done out of Plettenberg Bay with Ocean Safaris or Ocean Blue Adventures. They invite you to discover the diverse marine life of Plettenberg Bay...Bottlenose, Humpback and common dolphins, Bryde's Southern Right and Humpback whales. Add this to a colony of Cape Fur Seals and a multitude of birds and sharks and you have the best safari by far. The whale season is from July through mid October, however, there are always dolphin in the bay. On our way back to the hotel we would also stop in Knysna for a bit of shopping if guests wish to do so.
DAY 7-8 SHAMWARI, EASTERN CAPE
