Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve traverses over 10 000 hectares in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park and is approximately 500 km due east of Johannesburg.  The lodge is easily accessible either by road from Johannesburg  (a five and a half hour drive), or by air, flying either by private charter direct, or on the commercial airline to KMIA, where a 2 hour road transfer or a 25 minute flight  to Leopard Hills would be required.

BY ROAD

From Johannesburg or Pretoria, take the N12 or N4 highway to Nelspruit and White River. From White River, take the R40 to Hazyview. At Hazyview, turn right onto the R536 towards the Paul Kruger Gate. Approximately 34 km along this road, and just after the Saringwa River, look out for signs indicating the private lodges on the left hand side of the road. Turn left here and follow the Leopard Hills signs all the way to the Newington Gate (approximately 13 km). Once through the gate, continue straight on and follow the signs to the lodge (approximately 14 km). You will be required to pay R30,00 entrance fee.

DISTANCES

Johannesburg to Leopard Hills - approximately 6 hours (+- 500 kms.) Nelspruit to Leopard Hills - approximately 1,5 hours (+- 150 kms.)

The lodge is built on a hill overlooking a natural waterhole, the Perennial Sand River is a sanctuary for many bird species and host to wallowing Hippo’s and basking Crocodiles as it gently flows to the heartbeat of Africa not far from camp.  From this Hilltop Sanctuary, if you listen carefully somewhere in the distance you may be lucky enough to hear the roar of a Lion, companionless in his courage, friendless in his magnificence or, witness the reality of life and death in its fullness, as your eyes gaze into a marula tree, only to fall upon the illusive Leopard devouring the most graceful of all Antelope, the Impala.  Or perhaps you stumble upon the Dung-beetle during a walking safari and pay homage to the courage and strength of this little creature, which has throughout time, competed with the char axes, whom have always gained favour for their beauty.

Each of the 8 luxurious glass-fronted suites, complete with their own sundeck and
rock plunge pool offer superb views of the African bushveld beyond, while air-conditioning and overhead fans provide welcome respite against the harsh African heat.  The breath-taking romantic bathrooms, which include double indoor and outdoor showers, have windows which open to a glorious view of the passing cavalcade below.  Enjoy the privacy of your suite and salute the timelessness of Africa over a drink from your fully-stocked mini bar.  Or drift into a deep and peaceful sleep whilst enjoying a full body massage.
