The Coach House is the only hotel in the Northern Province of South Africa to have a five star grading and a Silver Classification - the highest accolade of hotels in this country, shared only by less than a dozen others throughout South Africa.

The Coach House is situated on a 560 ha property (a working subtropical fruit and nut farm) with several walks and hikes meandering through the property. Alternatively, you can explore the beautiful surroundings on a mountain bike!

We boast two exceptional 18-hole golf courses - one a 25 minute drive away, and the other an hour's drive away at Phalaborwa - this being the world famous Hans Merenksy Country Club, where encounters with wild game on the course are always an exciting possibility.

Latest addition to the Coach House, the Agatha Spa is where ancient Roman hydro-therapy meets advanced modern health.
Using natural hot spring water, the Agatha Spa has added the knowledge of modern medicine and a luxurious range of beauty and spa treatments (including facials, mud wraps, massages, pedicures and many more) all designed to revitalize and restore.

Other facilities include a sauna and fully-equipped gym, croquet lawn (floodlit), billiards and snooker, sparkling swimming pool and a curio/craft shop.

Visitors will be pleased with the year round excellent climate. Wood burning log fires are lit in our rooms on the odd chilly winter's evening.

Accommodation:
The Coach House offers 41 comfortable well-appointed rooms, each with its own generous en-suite bathroom and separate shower. There are 7 suites and 25 premier rooms with extra long king-size double or twin beds, and 9 classic doubles with extra long queen-size double beds. All are fitted with percale cotton sheets and mohair blankets.

All rooms have private verandas with mountain views. All suites and premier rooms have log burning fireplaces where one can snuggle up on a chilly winter's night.

Rooms are stocked with spring water, fresh fruit and homemade biscuits daily.

Bathrooms have an extensive range of guest toiletries.

Room facilities include electronic safes, heated towel rails, mini bars and satellite TV with 14 channels.

Wining & Dining:
Fine dining is a daily occurence at the Coach House! Renowned for the finest breakfast in the country, there is no better place to enjoy this than on the veranda overlooking the pool. The chef and his team specialise in preparing jolly good food! They use the freshest seasonal ingredients, most of which are sourced locally, like the Lunsklip River Trout, Bonsmara Beef, and sub-tropical fruits and nuts.

The Coach House is also renowned for its wine cellar which stores an impressive 8000 bottles comprising 200 local and imported wines to please every palate and pocket.

Vegetarian and special dietary requirements are easily provided.

Facilities & Activities:
Whether you are energetically inclined, or prefer a leisurely pace, the Coach House offers something for everyone. The hotel has a sparkling cool pool and a heated pool at the spa.

An 18-hole golf course is situated nearby, as well as a nine-hole golf course. A gentle game of croquet on the floodlit lawn or billiards in the snooker room can be enjoyed.

The estate, incorporates fifteen hectares of beautiful gardens, and the adjacent new Agatha and Wolkberg Foresty Reserves, offer bird watching, tree spotting, nature walks, hiking and mountain bike trails.

The Old Workshop and Fallen Tree function rooms cater for gatherings from two to 120 guests, and are ideal for any occasion, including weddings and conferences. The charming Broken Anvil Wine Cellar is available for private functions and parties.

Agatha Spa:
Designed with vast glass doors that slide open to frame spectacular mountain views, this state-of-the-art hydro is based on the philosophy that personal fulfilment lies in achieving the combined health of mind, body and soul.

The sensorium boasts a fully equipped gym, hydro-jet heated pool and his-and-hers sauna and steam rooms set against classical murals.

Our team of professional beauty therapists offer a wide range of health and beauty treatments that combine sheer indulgence and natural healing.

The Agatha Spa offers a comprehensive range of health and beauty therapies, from relaxing massages and facials to aromatherapy and invigorating Vichy showers, mud and seaweed wraps, reflexology and spa bronzing, and many more.

Light lunches are served at the spa, from menus that make liberal use of the vast array of sub-tropical fruit and vegetables grown on the farm.

The Coach House is situated in a malaria free location.

They are located within a 120 km radius of three airports (Hoedspruit - Eastgate Airport, Pietersburg - Gateway International, and Phalaborwa Airport) which have regular daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg. The Coach House offers a transfer service.

This beautiful area has much to offer. There are two golf courses in the district, while keen fly-fishermen can cast their lines into the clear waters of the many local dams and streams. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy a range of actitivies on the nearby Ebenezer or Tzaneen dams.

Those who love the bush and wildlife only have to travel one and a half hours to reach the Phalaborwa Gate of the Kruger National Park. Alternatively, there is a local private nature reserve for elephant or rhino tracking opportunities.
We also cater for birding enthusiasts, and have bird lists and information specially compiled for the 250 species found in the grounds of the Coach House property and general Letaba area.

There are forty five luxuriously spacious rooms, each with a private balcony overlooking spectacular Drakensberg Mountain scenery.
