We have 16 Superior rooms and four Luxury suites (one being our romantic Honeymoon suite) at the Lodge all of which have been tastefully furnished in different styles - Colonial, Victorian, Provencal, French Country, African Colonial and English Country as well as our recently completed Orchard and Forest rooms – and offer guests luxurious comfort and secluded privacy. Our six new Orchard and Forest rooms form a little village on their own and, as their names suggest, some have a view over our citrus orchard while the others look into our pine forest.

SUPERIOR ROOMS

Our 16 Superior rooms are furnished in different styles, each one offering 5-star levels of comfort and luxury. Concrete baths dominate the bathrooms of our Provencal rooms while step up baths and hand made basins feature prominently in our French Country rooms. Outdoor showers are “added extras” in most of our rooms and will entice you to experience the magic of showering under the Milky Way.

JATINGA'S A LA CARTE RESTAURANT

A glass of sparkling wine with tantalizing canapés, served in your room at sundown, sets the tone for the evening ahead.

Our talented culinary team has put together a varied a la carte dinner menu that ensures Jatinga’s proud tradition of fine dining continues. You’ll be spoilt for choice from tempting dishes bursting with local delicacies and the freshest ingredients.

Breakfasts are an occasion in themselves with home made muesli and seasonal fruit kebabs vying for attention over delicately sliced smoked salmon and cream cheese.

Pure indulgence comes in the form of one of our traditional High Teas, served on request, which comes with lady-like cucumber and salmon sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a heavenly cake of the day.

There’s no need not to enjoy Jatinga’s fine fare when taking a day trip to the Kruger or the Panorama route. Simply take one of our gourmet picnic hampers along and feast on pesto encrusted fillet, succulent sliced chicken breast with harissa, home baked Jatinga bread – baked and served in mini clay pots – fresh fruit salad and a generous slice of our chef’s yummy cake of the day!

Tea and coffee is readily available throughout the day, with melt-in-your-mouth fresh scones served at 16h00 each day … with our compliments!

LORD MILNER PUB

The “Lord Milner” pub can be found just off the lounge in the lodge’s main building and its vibrant coral red walls are as warm and welcoming as our barman’s smile! Whether a gin and tonic is your preference or a glass of chilled estate wine, you’ll be well looked after in the “Lord Milner”.

OUTDOOR DELIGHTS

Our secluded pool deck with its inviting pool is there for guests’ enjoyment, as are the hammocks dotted around the gardens. Our elevated wooden deck overlooks the White River and is a great spot for sundowners. Bird life abounds at Jatinga and a comprehensive bird check list can be found in all our rooms. There are two leisurely walks along the White River for those who wish to explore our grounds a little more. Croquet and French boules are two of the other laid back pursuits that can be enjoyed at the lodge.

WINE CELLAR

Dining in our wine cellar is an experience in itself with hundreds of bottles of red wine as your silent but tempting dinner companions.

BANQUETING ROOM

Spacious and airy, our banqueting room opens up to a private garden with a view over the pecan orchards. A versatile venue for functions and conferences.

GOURMET PICNICS

Whether you’re going on a game viewing trip into the nearby Kruger National Park, planning to take in the breathtaking views of the scenic Panorama route or simply lazing away your day in our gardens – or even looking for something different to offer your wedding guests – then one of our legendary picnic hampers will make the most perfect cuisine companion!

A little something to whet your appetite,

then crisp salad greens and plump Rosa tomatoes, topped with shavings of Parmesan and drizzled with Balsamic and olive oil, together with home made bread (baked and served in mini clay pots) will be your entrée.

Thereafter it’s onto your mains of pesto encrusted seared beef fillet and succulent sliced chicken breast with harissa. A seasonal fresh fruit platter followed by a generous slice of the Chef’s cake of the day and a selected cheese board will complete the experience, surely one that should not be missed.

LUXURY SUITES

An English Country garden theme will greet you in two of our suites, the only two that boast dual open fire places that can be enjoyed in the lounge or the bedroom! These suites also have magnificent Cherry wood four poster beds and secluded outdoor showers. Our Colonial suite will transport you into a bygone era with its checkered tiled bathroom floor and ball-and-claw bath. Sound systems are standard in our suites as is the sherry decanter, the contents of which are yours to enjoy with our compliments!
