HORSE RIDING
Enjoy a leisurely two- hour horse ride through the verdant valley vineyards, and stop for wine tasting at the beautiful Mont Rochelle Wine Estate. Group sizes can range from 4 to 18 people. Both novice and experienced riders can be accommodated.

HIKING TRAILS
There are various hiking trails in and around the Franschhoek Valley. Trail routes are available at reception. Guided trails are also on offer and depend on individual needs. The Mont Rochelle Fynbos conservancy offers hikes for old and young through the mountains above Franschhoek. Permits cost R10.00 per person and are available from Reception.
WINE TASTING
Most of the wine farms in the area offer wine tasting. Prices vary from Estate to Estate. Estates are well marked and can be visited on a self drive basis. Private tours to Estates can be arranged through the Hotel.
CHEESE TASTING
Franschhoek, while primarily known for its quality wines, is fast becoming famous for its world-class cheeses. Home to one of the largest cheese festivals in South Africa, people travel from all over the country to come and taste the wares of Franschhoeks fine cheesemakers.
FLY-FISHING
A trip up to Dewdale Trout Farm will restore your soul. This tranquil setting, high up in the Mountains offers and exceptional retreat for the whole family or groups. Equipment and tuition is provided. Catch your own trout and have our Chefs prepare it to your taste.
