| After a leisurely breakfast, make your way to the Constantia Wine Valley, only 20 minutes’ drive from your hotel. Enjoy your morning round of golf and afterwards taste the Steenberg Wines and wines of the surrounding wine farms and opt for a lunch on one of these wine farms. |
| Golf at Steenberg Golf Club. | Designer Ken Elkin. Distance Champ 6 424m, Club 6 115m, Par 72.
The Steenberg Golf Course and Estate offers the golfer the complete package. In terms of a resort course, look no further than Steenberg. The five star graded Steenberg country Hotel, championship golf course, guided tours and wine tasting on the edge of the Constantia winelands make golfing at Steenberg an unforgettable golf experience.
Steenberg is both private and exclusive. Only hotel guests, members and their guests are allowed on the course. This is a luxury in season, as it avoids over crowding normally associated with golf courses in Cape Town during the summer months of November to April.
Steenberg Golf course has a flat layout with wetland and parkland features. The fairways are divided into four distinctive regions, namely Wetlands, Parklands, Cape Flats and Fynbos. These regions take advantage of all natural features and hazards that golfers have to navigate. Some of these features include large waste bunkers, running creeks, water hazards and excellent bent greens. Check out the par-three 7th at the start of the wetland section of the course. It is surrounded by water on three sides and a bunker on the fourth. |

| After a leisurely breakfast, make your way out to the Royal Cape Golf Club for your round of golf. |
| Golf at Royal Cape Golf Club. | Designer Dr Charles Molteno Murray. Distance Champ 6 121m, Club 5 787m, Par 72.
Formed in 1885, the Royal Cape Golf Course is the oldest club in South Africa and the whole of Africa. It is a championship course of some repute and has hosted the prestigious SA Open 11 times. Once you visit this flat parkland golf course you will see why. The tree lined fairways are narrow with many water hazards and bunkers. The golf course is always well groomed and has mountain views from just about every hole. The greens are modern with bent grass.
This course is a challenge and demands a repertoire of shots, from accuracy off the tee box to pinpoint short irons. What starts off as a pleasant round of golf could turn into a nightmare unless, of course, you consider yourself a pro!
The Royal Cape Golf Course is fairly unprotected from the South Easter and when the wind is blowing, your handicap will be seriously challenged! |

| After a leisurely breakfast, make your way out towards Paarl in the heart of the Cape Winelands. After your round of golf, take some time to enjoy the winelands. Visit the numerous wine farms in the area for a chance to sample world class wines. If the weather allows a hot air balloon ride over the vineyards is a must. Don’t forget the beach is a short drive away and there is shopping in the numerous malls which cannot be missed |
| Golf at Pearl Valley Golf Estate. | Designer Jack Nicklaus Distance Champ 6 511m, Club 6 090m, Par 72.
Pearl Valley is the latest addition to the Jack Nicklaus s repertoire of signature-designed courses worldwide. The Pearl Valley Golf Estate is surrounded by the Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains and bordered by vineyards with The Berg River water hazard running through it!
Nicklaus has stayed true to his design principles by working closely with nature and has provided a golf course that fits in with the environment. This fairly flat and largely uninterrupted terrain enabled Nicklaus the freedom to develop hole strategies making this a golf course the golfer has to think his/her way around. The course is spectacularly set in beautiful surroundings and it is only a matter of time before Pearl Valley hosts an international golfing event.
The fairways are unique in that they have been sown with all season cool grass imported from the USA, a first in South Africa. With 17 hectors of running water, water hazards come into play on just about every hole. Typical of a Jack Nicklaus design there are many bunkers, 76 to be exact, which have been cleverly sculptured into the fairway and around the greens!
The course is so new that a signature hole has not been decided on but the resident pro assures us that it's the par-three 13th. The green is situated on the edge of a small dam that must be cleared with a bunker guarding the far side. |
